Situated in the northwest corner of the city, Pike Township is one of Indianapolis’ nine townships. As with many areas of Indianapolis, the housing stock in Pike is quite diverse, from starter homes priced in the $150,000s to luxury homes from the $500,000s and on up. Particularly in northern and far western Pike, you’ll find more expensive homes of high-quality construction with wooded lots.
While Pike Township’s students score lower than many of their counterparts across the city on standardized tests, scores have come up in recent years, and the township enjoys a 94 percent graduation rate. Pike High School offers the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement classes, as well as a wide variety of clubs, sports and arts programming.
Eagle Creek Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the U.S., is a natural oasis within Pike Township. Covering more than 1,400 acres of water and 3,900 acres of land, the park provides nature-watching and a wide variety of recreation—everything from fishing to sailing to golf to horseback riding.
